This simple maroon hoodie is emblazoned with our cross-stitched monogram logo and decorated with two  hand-machine embroidered Indian golden orioles on the front, with an insect on the stitch line. The golden orioles are migratory birds that were popular subjects for both European and Asian artists in the 17th century. When English artists first came to India, they were surprised to see the birds rendered within the Mughal aesthetic. For us, these little birds reject the binaries of east and west, and invite discourse on the fluidity of culture and the basis of canon traditions.
